Hi, I'm
Joi Pierre

I help filmmakers, artists and brands go from idea to wrap without losing the heart of the story.

I'm the writer-director of Zydeco!Zydeco!Zydeco!, a Houston short that raised over $23k from our community. I've run sets as a 1st AD, produced live events, and made reels for local artists.

Whether you need someone to direct, keep the day on schedule, build your crew or make your content pop, I bring the plan and the energy.

FAQ
How far ahead should I book?

At least 2 weeks before your first prep or shoot day. Shorter notice may still work, but it adds a rush fee because I have to clear my schedule fast.

Do you travel?

I'm based in Houston and work regularly in Los Angeles. For shoots anywhere else, production covers travel and lodging plus a $50/day per diem, and out-of-town shoot days add $150/day. Travel days are set in your deal memo.

What if the shoot runs long?

Day rates cover a 12-hour day. After 12 hours, overtime is billed at 1.5x the hourly rate. I also ask for at least 10 hours of turnaround between days.

How do payments and deposits work?

I take Stripe (card, Apple Pay and more) and check or invoice for companies. Directing, producing, AD, writing, reels and bundle bookings need a signed deal memo and a 30% deposit to hold your dates; you can cancel for a full refund within 24 hours. Producer, Director and writing fees are split into payments over the project. Smaller services like script notes and fundraising prep are paid when you book.
